On Rock, Grandmas and School

I tried hard to come up with content for this blog post but I just couldn't, and I figured it's because I am so not enthusiastic about school starting again.

Yes, I blame everything on school. And men.
I promise I'm not a man-hater, but it's just so much easier to blame everything on them instead of yourself.

Anyway, so what do I write now without boring you when I am so bored myself? How about... I post videos instead!

Because today my friend shared his debut video that he posted on Youtube and Facebook, and I have to tell you, this was the highlight of my back-to-school-week:
Meet Mr. J-Wax. His wife was an old roommate of mine back... before my mission! We've kept in contact here and there (Facebook does have its benefits!), and they bring back good memories of that apartment. But while I knew that he played the guitar, I did not know that he played it so well and could write satirical lyrics as well. Now I feel like posting this on every heavy metal video I come across. Or sending it to my upstairs ex-neighbor (thank goodness it's "ex") who played his electric guitar at night.

This video also reminded of a funny ad I just saw on tv. Last week, while finishing up my last paper of the semesters (HOORAY!), I watched a show about the Top Ten Best Commercials of 2012. I didn't agree with some of the selections, but one of them was this:

Oh Fedex. Their international rates are outrageous- they quoted me that I could send a 1.5 pound parcel to Singapore in a week for $96!!! HELLO?!- but they do come up with some funny ads.

My all-time favorite ad of 2012 however, was this from Argentina- even if it did not win:

Yes, let poor grandma rest in peace.
Who even comes up with such an idea?! GENIUS!!!

Hope everyone had a fantastic back-to-school week :)
